Hello Friends,
In this blog, we are going to discuss the various concepts of parking in detail. The blog will cover the topics like types of parking, and parking standards, turning radius and we will also try to answer some of the critical components of parking like ECS (Equivalent Car Space). So let's start;
Parking
So basically parking can be understood as a dedicated space for the occupancy of vehicles. if you want to know the seriousness of the topic then understand it by the concept of HBM, where H stands for Human, B stands for Building and M stands for Movement.
So, for the purpose of moving from one place to another place we required various modes of transportation, it may be public transportation (public bus, train, airways, etc) and sometimes private transportation medium like a car, motorcycle, etc
These mediums of transportation systems required some space for the purpose of stationing and that required space is known as parking space, the requirement of the stationing space will also vary with the types of vehicles. For example parking space required by two-wheeler vehicles will be different from the parking space required for four-wheeler vehicles.
(Two-wheeler parking space)
Similarly, there is so much variation in parking spaces depending upon the type of vehicles under the category of four-wheeler vehicles there are also commercial transportation vehicles (ex. lightweight trucks) for which different standards are required.
Types of Parking:
1) Parallel Parking
a) Single Bay (Parallel Parking)
b) Two Bay (Parallel Parking)
2) Perpendicular Parking
a) Single Bay (Perpendicular Parking)
b) Two Bay (Perpendicular Parking)
3) Angle Parking/Oblique Parking

b) 45-degree parking
c) 60-degree parking
